Bexhill Horticultural Society - May 23
Passing the memorials to the RAF and to John F. Kennedy, we arrived at the boathouse to board our boat for a trip through Windsor whilst enjoying lunch served by the splendid crew. The skipper kept us informed about the sights we were passing, including a marvellous Victorian pinnace, beautiful water birds such as herons, grebes and kingfishers, and interesting riverbank properties, whilst in the distance Eton College and Windsor Castle were seen.
Lunch over, we returned to the boathouse to our coach and made the short trip to the Valley Gardens. Masses of azaleas and rhododendrons in full bloom were a sight to behold and a very pleasant afternoon was spent wandering at will in this tranquil setting.

Despite a foreboding weather forecast, the climate was kind to us and we returned to Bexhill at 7.30pm, expressing our thanks to Stuart Wood for another highly successful outing.
